Sushi Yama is a must-visit restaurant located in McKay Tower. They always provide excellent service and their food is consistently fresh and delicious. The prices are fair and the owners make sure to go above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience for their customers. I typically bring my lunch to work, but when I don't, Sushi Yama is my go-to spot for a quick, reliable, tasty, and affordable lunch option. I highly recommend it - 10/10!
I had high expectations for a sushi restaurant in downtown, but unfortunately the food here fell short. The seaweed salad was decent, but the cooked eel was too sweet and mushy, lacking the desired texture. The yellowtail seemed past its prime, making it inedible. The salmon was somewhat fresh, but not the fatty kind I was hoping for, and was a bit dry. The spider roll was disappointing, filled mainly with breaded crab.
A sushi place in the basement of the McKay Tower, it is unassuming and out of the way from your normal food options. Seating is next to the elevators, but they will bring your food to your table. Prices are great for a downtown restaurant, but don't expect a romantic dinner out.Parking: Paid street parking during business hours. Free street parking after 6pm and on weekends.
Came here for a meal during a big conference. Only planned on stopping by once during the week. Ended up coming by a few times since it was so good. Very fresh, delicious sushi. Extremely mediocre food at best. The sushi rice was not fresh and the edamame was the worst I've ever eaten. It was frozen and cooked in a microwave. Decent service and cool location are the only redeeming factors, but there are so many better sushi options in GR Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Good spot for a quick lunch. I've eaten at Sushi Yama about a half dozen times and really enjoy it. My favorite is the spicy tuna and the house salad. There is a small area to sit and eat your lunch or take it to go.
This food was amazing. There isn't much space at this location, but they do a lot with what they have. The staff was also very pleasant. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.Food: 5/5
That was my first time, and I have to say this is one of the better sushi spots out there. I have lunch Special A, which is a lot for $12. The atmosphere is unique and very cold. definitely coming back here Reserva una mesa ahora
so delicious! the rice was seasoned pefectly and all the flavors were so well balanced. the rolls are simple but thats where the beauty lies. simply divine.
