Before our outing, a friend sent me some reviews about the restaurant that were all very negative, highlighting issues like overpriced food and drinks, servers handling food barehanded, and unsanitary conditions. The restaurant even charges what they call a “Lounge Tax,” which adds almost $20 per person just to dine in. Despite the warnings, we decided to go and see for ourselves. Upon our arrival and after being seated, we were ready to order since we had the menus with us. However, we quickly learned that the menus were outdated, and many items listed were unavailable. Of those that were, the food was overpriced, undercooked, or simply unpleasant. We always request separate checks when...

This was our first visit to Suya Spot since the pandemic started, and it was enjoyable to have some Nigerian delicacies. Cold drinks including Gulder beer and Maltina were refreshing. A Nigerian version of meat pie was a good appetizer. In Nigerian fashion the crust was thicker that its Jamaican cousin, but the meat was flavorful. The beef suya was thin and delicious and accompanied by the traditional red onion and tomato slices and a side of plantain (dodo). Tried a couple of dishes we had not previously samples here. The rice and beans was cooked soft. We were happy to see the red cow peas. The sauce has just the right amount of spice and full of tasty cow keg (bokoto). A final treat was t...
Met friends there for lunch hoping to try new foods loved Ethiopian food so we figured why not). We opted for the chicken soya and rice. The menus on line are not the same as those in this tiny restaurant. Our friends had the lamb. The lamb was over cooked almost burnt and dried out. It was hardly a mouthful for the outrageous price we paid.. the tables still had leftover dishes fro the previous customers, no one cleans off tables , we had to do it. There were at least 8 people standing around doing nothing. We had the chicken Susa which was 1/4 of a chicken cooked in African spices. What chicken we could find in the dish was dried out, and bones. The skin of the chicken made up the majority...
Tried Suya Spot today for the first time. Ordered Asun and Chicken Suya. The Asun was described as deboned and there were bones in the meat. The meat was very tough and expensive for the amount you got. The spices were great! The chicken came as described with the exception of no cucumbers. Was surprised that no sides came with the meals which were overpriced and also higher priced than the online menu. This is not a place I would recommend. Was expecting a fresh, local experience. Food was very disappointing. Reserva una mesa ahora
The Suya spot was quite impressive when it first opened, but over time, the quality has significantly declined. The staff appear unkempt, and I noticed one short female employee picking up a meat pie with her bare hands. Recently, I saw the same girl picking her nose while serving customers—really unacceptable. To make matters worse, the prices for the food are shockingly high. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I wanted so to try this restaurant since I heard it had opened. I must say that I was very disappointed to go to pick up food for my family at 8pm to find that they not only did not have any food but a couple containers of okra soup and one other concoction not labeled. I asked if anything could be prepared and was told no. The location closes at 10pm today. Why was there nothing available? What a bad experience.

"The food at this restaurant is fantastic! We did have to wait about 20 minutes to be seated since we didn't make a reservation. The service was excellent. We enjoyed a brunch meal, and the price per person was between $10 and $20. The food and service both get a 5 rating, while the atmosphere was a 4. We highly recommend trying the Chicken and Waffles and the Salmon and Grits dishes."
