Now that the buffet which, in and of itself collects harmful airborne pathogens has been closed due to covid this restaurant should seriously consider upping their game! First: the decor was absolutely dismal. I was under the impression that Indians love their heritage and culture, this place sadly had absolutely nothing. Second: what was with the negligible portions, and for the price you are paying there were no leftovers, again sad.. And then there was the awful dinnerwear, it was something you would find at a gas station and the gas station would be offended, I was served a bowl of soup in something that looked like it could be leaching chemicals, yikes.!! If you want to eat a meal like you in a factory conveyor belt, then over for weekend buffet. In the past, you had the option to order something other than water not when I went last (Feb 2024). And it was worse than that ... The only time someone came to our table was to drop off, or pick up, the check. I thought it was weird, so I looked around. No other table had any drink other than water. This was about 8 other tables in the first room by the entrance. I could not see the back room. So it appears like this is a decision, not a fluke. Lastly, the bill came to the table with a processing fee already added. Reminder that no one talked to us at all, so they have no idea how we plan on paying...

I am thoroughly impressed with a local restaurant. The staff at Swagat are extremely friendly. I visited the restaurant for the first time today and they generously gave my one-year-old son a free smoothie and ice cream for his birthday. They even brought our food out to the car. Their customer service is exceptional! The food was amazing as well. They have definitely gained a loyal customer in me.

The food at this restaurant in Madison was better than average. We tried their weekend lunch buffet and found it to be flavorful and not bland like some other Indian restaurants in the area, which was a positive for us.
