Sweetlips Leederville has gone down hill so badly. My partner and I decided to go back as it's been awhile and it will be even longer if ever before we go back. Disgusting fish...batter looked like bread crumbs cooking oil smelt old and even though I had the smallest of bites it made me feel I'll. Both our fish was so thin without flavor. My wife and I decided to go to sweetlips in Leederville by a friends recommendation we have been before but not in a fair while, evidently a great deal can change. As soon as I walked through the door I was not impressed. I was greeted by an Rude Asian man who seemed unimpressed by our visit. We ordered snapper and chips to eat in, the chips were quite crunchy, yet the fish somewhat soggy. Just popped out for quick fish and chips and found this mainly take away shop open on Easter Monday.The quality of their cooking oils was excellent, fresh and clean which made the fish and wedges crisp and not oily.The fish was fresh and tasty We ate in which is possible a few tiny tables and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and size of the serveService was a little slow .. but then we were all on holidays!!! Its was a welcome change from greasy fish cooked from frozen fish.... yumm place open till late
There are 3 Sweetlip outlets in Perth & I have eaten at all of them, I suppose it depends who is doing the cooking but most of the time the seafood is fresh & cooked to perfection, only twice have I had reason to complain, not drained enough, I am happy to report that the quality is regularly up to standard at Leederville, remember it's just a fish & chip shop after all.

Overpriced fish & chips. Very average food. Can get better fish & chips from the local chip shop. Customer service is non existent. Waited for service over 5 minutes one night. Just standing there and none of the staff bothered to even turn around. Wasn't even busy. I walked out and have never been back.
Came here last week on Sunday in hope of fish and chips that lived up to the hype. I was greeted with 20 minute waiting times for fish and chips, aswell as unclean tables and a female staff member with brown hair seemed to be snapping and rude to other staff. Disappointed to say the least.
Some don't know and perhaps some don't agree, but to me, Whiting is the best fish you'll ever taste! And where you get the best Whiting is Sweetlips in Leederville and with great chips to go with it. A special treat is to get it on Ubereats. Always had it delivered fast and hot.

Having fallen for the hype of the advertising for this place we gave it a go, only to find small portions, large prices and average quality food. Average in that the fish was overlooked and dry. Certainly not worth the large price tag.
Fish was good and enough for two but chip quantity was absolute minimal. Burger with coleslaw had very dry coleslaw. Long wait for food. I wouldn't return. Two stars for the fish quality.
