Traditional preserved pork belly should have a smoky flavor and a dry texture, while this dish was simply salty and had a soft texture, which is characteristic of bacon. It definitely doesn't justify the price. Additionally, it was overly salty, and the restaurant did not provide us with water. As a result, I chose not to leave a tip. The cashier confronted me about the lack of tip in an angry manner, and when I explained my reasoning, she reluctantly said that tips could be waived this time. We ordered frog with chili and frog with pickled chili. Both are fresh and great! We wrote in the notes to ask if these dishes could be made as less spicy as possible. They made it, without loss of flavor. The cauliflower dry pot is also tasty. So this is certainly not a restaurant providing pre-made food. I haven’t try too many Szechuan restaurants in LA, but if this was in great Seattle area, this restaurant would be the top.
