We went to dinner at Taka on a Saturday night at 5:30pm. When we arrived, it was quiet and they seated us at a booth. We asked to move to a round table and were told there was a reservation for that table at 7 pm, but we could sit there if we finished before then. Our party of 6 started with Crispy Spicy Tuna, Crab Cakes, Edamame, and Seared Sea Scallops. All were good, but my favorite was the Crispy Spicy Tuna. The fresh tuna with rice cake and ponzu sauce was heavenly. I didn't like jalapeños, so I removed that slice, but the taste with scallions was phenomenal. I recently had dinner at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The price per person ranged from $50 to $100, which is a bit on the higher side, but the food, service, and atmosphere made it worth it. I would rate the food a 5 out of 5. The sushi I had was incredible and fresh, and I could tell that the chefs took great care in preparing it. Great vibe, great bar and Great spot for lunch! We were a group of 6 and based on the generous portions served, were able to sample a decent amount of dishes which were each very good! Shishito Peppers, Shumai, Ribs, various rolls and the hidden treasure the Hamburger and Fries!!! Totally did not expect a great burger from this restaurant, but unless this is your first time here in which case you MUST sample the Asian specialties I would highly recommend the burger and crispy fries!
