This was our first time dining at the restaurant. I went out with my son for a special night, and he chose Thai food. We were welcomed by a lot of friendly faces and a very accommodating staff. We were seated right away, and it was clear they had a large team working there, most of whom were wearing masks. The place looked clean and had a pleasant aroma. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the prices have nearly doubled, which means we now reserve visits for special occasions, especially when we’ve just returned from Thailand and are craving authentic dishes like Tom Yum (and their Tom Yum Goong is fantastic!). I recently noticed that they now offer Khao Soi, and having just come back from a Khao Soi tasting tour in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, I’m excited to try it at Takieng Thai soon. If you’re reading this and love Thai food like I do, definitely check it out. This restaurant features some really impressive artifacts and art that enhance the dining experience. I found myself wandering around to take it all in. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who were always ready to help! We ordered the Spicy Beef Salad and BBQ Chicken, along with an extra portion of beef for the salad and a side of rice for the chicken. Overall, the experience was decent, but I gave it 4 stars because the meat was inconsistently cooked—some pieces were overdone while others were undercooked and tough. I would definitely recommend this place! I am a vegetarian, so I got the pad thai without meat (just tofu and eggs . I also noticed that there was some small salad portion on the side in the box, and the pricing was really good for all amount I got. The noodles looked a little thin compared to noodles I have had previously at other places, but it still tasted really good! *see pic for reference I had actually called to order takeout 10 minutes before they closed, and very graciously they were able to make it for me to pick it up! Beautiful little restaurant with nice ambiance and amiable staff. We love the spicy deep fried fish here. Light and delicious with a flavourful sauce thatvis just spicy enough. Somewhere in between mild med is our sweet spot. Fresh spring rolls with aromatic herbs, tofu ,crunchy cabbage and sprouts teamed with peanut sauce was clean and tasty. The restaurant is very clean, with cloth napkins that add a touch of elegance, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. While our dishes didn’t all arrive simultaneously, we enjoyed every bite. There's plenty of parking available, but wheelchair accessibility can be tricky since the shopping center didn’t design its sidewalks very well. I highly recommend visiting this place; you’ll leave feeling full and satisfied!
Great food. Love the egg rolls. I would guess this is a little more authentic Thai than I’ve had. The dining room is nice-much nicer than it looks on the outside. Service was a little slow but very nice and they were busy with takeouts. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
