My only disappointment with Takoi is that I needed years to finally eat there. We were able to go here and eat without reservation on a Friday night bar seating and terrace seating were available. Service was enthusiastic and I enjoyed the fun lighting. There were many vegan options. I loved that Takoi went all by making vegan dishes that include vegetarian, but do not leave vegans instead when restaurants focus on making vegetarian dishes that can be made vegan by offering important parts of the dish. We had the coconut cake as an appetizer and some sweet little treats! When I first immersed in her, I enjoyed the sweetness, but what really made this excellent is the slow creep of chili oil. Next we had the green curry with sticky rice and the Maitake mushrooms. The fried squash that came in the green curry was phenomenal, I don't know how to melt these things in my mouth. The green curry was deeply tasteful, and the golden raisins were a unique and welcome addition. The macular mushrooms were a weaker plate, but still excellent. The mushrooms had the perfect car and were nice to see. But after the deep complexity of the green curry the mushrooms could not compete. For dessert we had the vegan ice cream sun and oh my divine it was top animal vegan ice cream. It was fluffy and creamy and rich really that is making the ice vegans. The sun contained caramel and a kind of mango syrup together with nuts and limes. We can't wait to go back. I plan a reservation for the end of this month and look forward to this meal in the dining room where we will be able to see the food prepared in the open kitchen. I'm so excited to try more of the dishes in Takoi!
