Tandoori Cottage - Reservar una mesa

This is our 4th visit in just over a month, we travel from Loughton missing out on all the other curry restaurants, just to get to Tandoori Cottage. The food and service has always been excellent. The very pleasant new owner, took over the restaurant in September last year 2018. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, old school, with seating booths on the right, regular tables on the left, white table linen and napkins. A good size menu with the old favorites along with specialty 's. We haven 't tried the starters yet, only the tasty crispy papadoms along with the chutney tray. Ordered a takeaway two weeks ago. Opened one container and struggled to identify its contents. The hard, black object resembling a small tree branch turned out to be fish! Had to use quite some force to break it open to discover that it was indeed cod, but not like I'd ever seen. It was grey, hard, dry and totally inedible. Rest of the meal gloopy, dry, quite tasteless and very badly cooked. Waste of £30 and hugely disappointing to my friend especially, as this was the first meal she hadn't cooked herself since lockdown.

As I am writing this review I must say how dissatisfied and disappointed I am trying this Indian dishes. I have ordered a take away on a Sunday evening that consisted of Butter Chicken and a portion of Pilau Rice. It is unbelievable sweet, please believe me this dish would have been ok as a dessert but not as a main dish. Called the restaurant back immediately to tell them and the o ly answer I got was “this is the way we do it” …. Very very disappointing.

for the first time and ordered according to such beautiful reviews. delicious, really delicious food with a lot of taste. just amazing that I could say it. really grateful for the compliments we have received(some popadoms and dives.) from now on it will be our Indian favourite place. thanks!

had a meal delivered tonight ot was nice really enjoyed the chicken curry was tender and tasty sweet. the chicken mass was rich and creamy very tasty. brot delicious so buttery. would definitely recommend ai will order from there again. Thank you.

Now this curry house is under new management it's back to its superb excellent food. Abul the owner is brilliant faultless nothing to much trouble. Best curry house ever definitely recommend and will visit often It's a 5+ star rating from us.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while now as I've heard such good reviews. I was not disappointed, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful and it was reasonably priced. I will return..
