Taqueria Jessy's - Reserva de mesa

What a hidden gem! We took a chance on this restaurant while staying in Virginia Beach last week, and we were pleasantly surprised. We have a favorite spot back in New York that we love, and Jessy's surpassed it. I ordered the skirt steak fajitas, and the homemade tortillas were fantastic. I also tried a chicken tamale, which was so delicious that I wished I had ordered another. My wife enjoyed a chimichanga, which she loved. The portions were generous, leaving us with full bellies. Our son had chicken quesadillas, and for drinks, they offered freshly made pineapple juice that was delicious. Another Triple D (diners, drive ins, and dives) disaster, this is the 27th triple D location I have been too they are all bad. You reviewers that call this authentic have never had authentic before. $5 for 1 super sad taco, the tortilla tasted like it was made last week, the meat was dry with 0 flavor, and it was small with hardly any filling. Next was the $14 burrito, the last place I spent $12 on a burrito. I could barely finish half and it was delicious. This was another sad burrito that began to un fold when I picked it up, very bland, and extremely greasy, I tasted more grease than anything else. Couldn't taste the beans and rice bc the server never brought any over. The tortilla again...

Jessy's came highly recommended by a co-worker who had moved away and was in town and wanted to meet up here to discuss some work stuff.It's authentic, that's for sure. I saw some things on the menu I have never even heard of and tried them and loved them.I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but I remember I ordered about four things and every single one was delicious.My co-worker was right. It's a no-nonsense type of place but the food was out quickly and it was delicious!

I probably will never eat or order Mexican food anywhere else. Having the Carne Asada plate took me back to when I lived close to the border. Everything is authentic and well worth the price! Service was really good, she was polite and took time to explain when I had questions. The location is pretty small but that's okay, Mexican music playing all day long which I love. During our vacation in Virginia Beach, we dined at several restaurants, but Taqueria Jessy's stood out as the best. My daughter remarked that it was finally food that was well-seasoned. If you're seeking an upscale dining experience, this isn't the right spot. However, if you want delicious, flavorful food, then this is definitely the place for you.

Service was very disorganized. Asked for chips and salsa 3 times, never came. Asked for water when I sat down, never came. Burrito wasn’t wrapped on both ends w juice pouring out from the sides. Was all soggy, had to eat it with a fork. Was expecting more from an authentic place. Seems like they mean well but do not have good organizational skills

Best Mexican food in Virginia. I'm from southern California and I've been desperately searching for a good Mexican place and I'm happy to say I found it! They have everything from hand made tortilla tacos to tamales to literally the best pozole I've had. Great spot if you want amazing Mexican food!Food: 5/5

Without a doubt, this is one of the best spots in Virginia Beach for authentic tacos. The staff is consistently friendly, and the food is served up incredibly fast. Amazing!!!Every single thing we ordered was quality, delicious, and so fast. We got the birria tacos (SO GOOD), and california burrito. Drinks were sweet and delicious, and everyone who worked here was really attentive and kind.Best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time!!
