The absolute best thing about Tate Island Grill is, without question, Elaine. She is the best server I have ever had in eating at excellent places across the United States. She works so hard, cleaning up after guests and has such a positive and friendly attitude. I come back to Tate and to Sandpearl because of Elaine. They also have the best impossible cheeseburger I've had, excellent drinks, and a stunning view. I recommend you come for any of those things, but especially Elaine. She is earning Tate so much money in return visitors and I hope they are acknowledging her and giving her the compensation she deserves. Vegetarian options: Impossible burger, salads, fries, cauliflower wings, etc.
Who knew that finding a vegan bun in Clearwater Beach would be so hard, especially with so many places now having plant-based patties! While they did serve it with packs of mayonnaise (the “real” Hellmans) on side, there’s other eggless, veg-friendly condiments at the table-so, all is redeemed! They have vegan cheese AND plenty of vegan cocktails, including a great **** Mary. Plus, it’s a gorgeous view, with seating on the patio looking out onto white beaches and tangerine sunsets. Heat lamps are few and far, but they certainly toast it up on a brisker evening. Bring a jumper in case.
We had a fantastic Impossible Burger with Violife cheddar cheese at Tate's. Our server, Corah, who is also vegan, was incredibly helpful and sweet. She even informed us that the restaurant manager is vegan too! Corah also gave us recommendations for other local vegan restaurants. Tate's offers both lunch and dinner and is conveniently located directly on the beach at the Sandypearl Resort. The atmosphere and decor are excellent.
The restaurant is located beautifully on the beach, but the service was really slow. My husband had the impossible burger, which he enjoyed, but I was disappointed to find that the only vegetarian option available was a hummus appetizer with guacamole. They also gave me a plate of veggies to go with it. Unfortunately, they no longer offer the veggie bean mixture for burritos.

Nice sitting on beach but had really slow service out there it seemed. Hubby got an impossible burger I'm tired of those everywhere i go) and I got only option which was a hummus appetizer guacamole. They did give me a side of veggies to go with it. No longer have the veggie bean mix for burritos.
Food was okay. Nothing to go home bragging about. Super super expensive. My 'Ceasars salad ' with a small piece of salmon was 25 bucks. That 's outrageous. Ambience was great as we ate there at dusk. Not a bad place. Just thought our meal was a waste of a bout 70 bucks.
Tate Island Grille Bar Area beach side is an awesome place to watch the sunset in Clearwater and have a great drink!!! Bill the bartender is awesome !!!

I enjoyed our beachfront seating at the restaurant. Though there were only a few vegan options available, the ones we tried were quite tasty.
The food was fresh and the ambience was beautiful right off the beach. Would definitely eat here again
