Tavern - Reserva de mesa

Bad food; worse service. The waiter took two of our drink orders (out of six), then he disappeared for 20 minutes without explanation. It took us ages to receive silverware. They brought us out the wrong order at first, and then it took 15 minutes for the rest of the party to receive their entrees. A spoon (for the tomato Basil soup, which was inedibly salty) took another 10 minutes to obtain. The Shishito pepper burger was absolutely bland and unsalted (I guess they had used all the salt in the soup). It was served with limp, room temperature dries. dinner in tavern is good - the menu includes all basic, the drinks are good, and eating is very well prepared. only complained were the steamed mushles that were a quite small amount (some a dozen mushles) but the broth was so delicious! it is an appetizer, I know, but it might have been 1.5 times the size. the pork chop was good, like the chicken and a burger. service was very good.

Clearly it was a very busy night so I get that and give them a bit of a pass. But, the tables outside where we were supposed to sit were a total mess (customers before us really went for it) and it took them a long time to clean them off. Then it took quite a while to take our order and even longer to get the food (45 min 1 hour). Would consider trying them again on a quieter night.

It was crowded and disorganized, especially the hostess. The waitress worked hard and stayed cheerful. The wrong order was brought to our table by a second waitress. Our food was slow to come, average in quality, and one plate was shorted on fries that were also limp and cold. Coronado was crowded; we understand post-holiday crowds. A big shout out to Sydney who made our experience at the Tavern most enjoyable. She and her team were very accommodating getting our family seated with some special needs. We have been to the Tavern a number of times and have always had a great experience. We will be back.
