Taverna 59 - Reservar una mesa

We stumbled upon this small, cozy restaurant by chance and we were really happy about the whole experience. The people who work there are actually Italian and the food quite authentically Italian as well: sophisticated, but simple and the secret is in the good quality of the ingredients. They even have pizzas, which I am sure are yummy, for around 11 euros, but we went for grilled fish which of course was pricey, but really fresh and cooked to perfection.On top of that, the owner and the waiter that served us were both really nice and patient the whole time. We never had to wait any longer than the time it took for our food to be cooked, nobody frowned when I asked for tap water, the waiter was very firendly in explaining to me how to approach the fish (a turbot can be challenging!) and everything was perfect. I will definitely go back there if I happen to go on a date in Wurzburg again.Also, I was really happy to leave a tip, because they really deserved it :)

Really enjoyed eating out here for my birthday. It is a lovely little restaurant that you just come across and is near the river Main. It has a lovely cosy feel and is great for a romantic evening. The food was just amazing!!! I ate every last bite and you could just taste that it was fresh and with top quality ingredients. I had the bruschetta and for the main the waitress recommended one of the specials of the day to us which we really enjoyed. The service couldn't be faulted, really friendly and the food came at just the right intervals. I would say it is a little bit pricey, but you would be happy to pay it for the quality of the food and service, and for a special occasion or if you wanted to treat yourself.

This is a very good restaurant if you are looking for authentic and well prepared Italian cuisine. The place is not cheap, but it is worth it. The piatti are prepared with love, not too copious, as it should be, people are friendly and help those clients not familiar with Italian cuisine. Count 40-50 euros pp.

Have eaten here twice, first time was ok, second time not so good. Ordered pasta with veggies and it was super salty. Also a pasta with shrimp and the shrimp was very fishy tasting. Wine by the glass prices are expensive compared to other places in the area. Will not return.

Really like this place in central Würzburg - always great food, very nice host, absolutely appropiate prices for the quality.
