We were referred to Tavola by Rob at Times Square Suites located right next door. He said it is best Italian in Vancouver. It was the only Italian in Vancouver that we sampled, but have to agree it was pretty awesome. There were 4 of us and we each had a different pasta. All were spectacular and all were obviously freshly homemade. We shared and each was wonderful. One of our diners had to have gluten free pasta and it had consistency and taste of regular pasta. Really good Italian food. Excellent pastas, meats and salads. It is made to share but can be eaten as individual dishes. The server really knew how to recommend correct amounts and variety so trust them. Wines mostly Italian imports. My only the complaint is the horrendous noise. You cannot hear yourself think, let alone talk to anyone at the other end of the table. What is it with modern restaurants which insist on style above diner comfort. Please put in some noise limiting features. My husband has tinnitus - he walked to the door, listened for a couple of moments and left. He would have literally been in pain if he had stayed. Frankly, I'm worried about giving Tavola a good review. This place is currently my favourite place to eat. I'm worried I will never get a table again if it continues to get popular. The food is simple and spectacular. The service is intimate but not cloying. The wines are well selected and always a treat. The chicken, in particular, never disappoints. It needs at least 30 minutes to prepare but the family style menu means you can pick away at other goodies while you wait. The pasta plates are plentiful and rich.Terrific place that hasn't disappointed yet.
My partner and I had dinner on Sunday evening at Tavola. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had scallop dish that was the special of the day and Burrata with La Quercia Prosciutto to start with. Both dishes were delicious. Then we had pasta dishes, Campanelle and lavioli with shrimp (special of the day). Both were good but we liked Campanelle better. Lastly we had two desserts. Ricotta tart and sticky toffee pudding. They were very tasty and also big portions. Staff were very attentive and we would visit there again.

This is more inventive than typical standard Italian food. The burratta and tomatoes were excellent and the olive crostini was full of flavor. The pastas were nice servings (not too big) and the gnocchi light as it should be. If they offer the Meyer lemon positano custard get it.....a perfect blend of sweet tart.Enjoy
Hadn't been to Vancouver in 6 years, loved this place then, still just as good! Leah took great care of us, despite a packed house. Apps are still excellent, and my halibut 'special' was spot on. Good wine list. You can't go wrong here. Nice neighborhood place, not fancy. Will return!
Great food, great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Can’t even decide what I liked the most we had the salami platter, burrata, pear crostini, cacio e pepe and the gnocchi. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We’ll definitely be back.
The only problem is that the staff in the kitchen are not wearing a mask or shield which poses risk for contamination of the dishes during cooking/preparation if one of the cooks has caught Covid-19. Already raised our concerns to the manager.
