The Colonial was the worst sandwich I have ever attempted to eat and keep down. The cranberry sauce could not even be found on the sandwich, but I doubt I would have been able to taste it, anyway. The only flavor in that sandwich was the overwhelmingly garlicky kale. Usually, I love garlic and am quite heavy-handed with it in my cooking, but this sandwich had way too much and it completely overpowered all the other ingredients. Even removing the garlicky kale did not help, as the ridiculous amount of garlic had permeated all layers of the sandwich. I was curious how taylor was open and made it through the pandemic. I chose an salate over several other places and I am angry that I did. the $17 salate was pathetic small. the taste and the quality were good, but I would have a little 10x better at home for about $1.50 I also remember that they are paper-based to go container, which is why I have chosen them over Chop’t. sadly I'm pressed hard to return.
I placed an online order of a chicken cheese steak (in hindsight no one should order that in DC, philly isn’t far after all). The chicken was undercooked and I couldn’t get through the first few bites as a result. I tried calling the store but the phone number seemed out of order.A few friends ordered different options and in all fairness they thought it was good. Definitely don’t recommend the chicken!

I decided to have lunch alone at Taylor’s because I was drawn in by the interior design, but there’s much more to love about this place. I tried the Memphis sandwich, which is apparently their most popular option, and the flavor combinations were fantastic. The price was a bit higher than I would typically prefer, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
Ordered Taylor Gourmet on Uber Eats. It came up as a black owned business near me so of course I wanted to check it out to support. And the food was great! I ordered the California Avenue sandwich. I should have gotten a regular size but I got a large and it is just that. A Large
