A large group of us had our annual Christmas dinner at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the soup was only lukewarm, and when we informed the waitress, my broccoli was almost raw. Others in our group also said that their vegetables were undercooked. We had mentioned this issue last year, and were told that we could request for our vegetables to be cooked more thoroughly. From being greeted by the friendly bar staff to the waiting staff, the service was lovely. We were there for Mothers Day lunch. We were offered a prosecco on arrival and shown to our table in the restaurant. A lovely surprise to have a guitarist play throughout the meal. A nice added touch to the day. Added to the ambience. The Ale House Kitchen in Ramsey is without a doubt the best pub in town. Since moving to the area recently, we have found it to be a very friendly establishment. The landlord, Matt, and the bar manager, John, treated us like locals from the very first day. They even made sure we had Guinness available. The Sunday Lunch at this pub is the highlight of the week - the food is fantastic and the service from Kasey and Maddie is top-notch. They are always friendly, easy to talk to, and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Well I spent the first few weeks exploring the many pubs in Ramsey. What a shock I got. Terrible! The last one I tried was The Ale House Kitchen and it was a very pleasant surprise. I met ‘normal’ people. They were friendly, welcoming, and for the last 4 months it has been the only place I have been for a drink. The Sunday Lunch is amazing and highly recommended. The ladies behind the bar, Kacey ‘sunshine’ and Madeline ‘Mad Dog’ bring a professionalism rarely seen in a Uk pub. John and Matt are also excellent too. Considering the name of this establishment I had high hopes of a pleasant experience. Unfortunately there were only 2 out of six ales on and the menu is much reduced to just sandwiches and wraps on a Saturday. The grilled halloumi wrap was stone cold, the advertised chunky chips were actually French fries and well overdone, inedible in fact. The beer I did have was nice and so was the cheese toastie. The young waitress was very pleasant and seemed genuinely apologetic but the duty bar manager was very different. If you want to grow the business on a Saturday afternoon offer better or close. We won’t be back.
Dropped in tonight for a meal whilst turned away from other locals because they were 'too busy '. Though had to wait a short time, bar staff were very accommodating as was the waitress who kept us informed when a table would be available. Food worth waiting for. Friendly service really good. Definitely recommend both for the ambience and quality.
I went to this restaurant for dinner one evening. The food was good, but they had run out of mashed potatoes. The burger had a very generous portion of pulled pork. However, the restaurant was freezing because the heating was off. This experience has deterred me from coming back.
