The At The Willcox

I called and reserved a table to take my mother in law for Mother’s Day lunch. Upon arrival at first they had no record of my reservation and then I was told my reservation was cancelled online which even if I wanted to I don’t know how to do so I most certainly did not cancel my reservation so we were left scrambling to make alternative plans. It was very disappointing and embarrassing to have to tell her we did not have a table anymore FOLLOW UP THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT A FRAUDULENT REVIEW I HAVE RECEIVED ZERO PHONE CALLS AND ZERO VOICEMAILS. We began our brunch with avocado toast and croissants to share. The salmon on the toast was a delightful surprise, giving a unique twist to the classic avocado toast. My notoriously picky niece finished off a chocolate croissant entirely, which is quite unusual for her as she typically only takes a bite or two of new dishes. The cheesy eggs were tasty, but the brioche French toast surpassed them in flavor. The shrimp and grits were also good, while the Wilcox CAB burger arguably stole the show during our brunch. Southern hospitality meets luxury this hotel is historic and sophisticated yet laid back.WIth a welcoming environment, they will make you all of your needs are met and you feel right at home. Compete with a pool, great dining, and spa this is the best place to stay while you are visiting Aiken or to have dinner as a local! This restaurant is perfect for a special night out. The ambiance in the lobby is lovely, and having valet parking sets the tone for an enjoyable evening. The Parmesan truffle fries made for a fantastic appetizer. I ordered the filet for dinner; while it was small, it was incredibly flavorful, especially with the delicious peppercorn sauce. Food and Drinks: The service here is outstanding—friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable. The food is excellent as well. Notable Features: This charming establishment offers a gracious and distinctly Southern atmosphere. It’s a must-visit while in Aiken. My wife said it best, from the first moment we entered the lobby from the rain, the Wilcox wrapped its arms around us. The cozy friendly bar, excellent restaurant, pretty rooms with the comfy beds, and friendly staff made our stay memorable. That doesn’t even touch on the unique and historic equestrian town.
