I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered two fish and chip dinners, each priced at $13.95. When they finally arrived, one was a large portion while the other was a small child's portion. Both were very soggy, so I sent one back. I requested a side of fries as a replacement, but by the time they arrived, everyone else had already finished their meals. I approached the manager to explain the situation, and he responded by saying it was funny because he had the same dish for lunch and it was perfect. To add insult to injury, I was charged $4.95 for the fries. I won't be returning; this place has poor management and lacked even a simple apology.
I have been here a handful of times and I think it's definitely above average diner. I have tried their chocolate chips pancakes, empanadas, tacos, and turkey burger. Very good, tastes fresh and flavorful! I was very surprised at the freshness of the fish taco and the turkey burger they make fresh there. The waitress is very friendly and lovely but could be a little more attentive, especially when it's not busy. And it's very inexpensive!
Stopped in on our way to the beach. Food was very good, but the service not so much. Waitress was very nice but it took almost 30+ minutes for our food to come out. (Hamburger, grilled cheese with bacon, tuna melt, onion rings) we would not have minded the wait cause hey it was fairly busy it was an extremely hot day. But we witnessed a group of about 4 or 5 people come in after us (only 2 people) order receive their food.
Cozy little diner with tasty food and welcoming service. I tried the Highlands Burger along with some onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly, and while the onion rings were from a frozen bag, they were crispy and well-prepared. The coleslaw was enjoyable, but the portion was quite small. I would have preferred to swap the onion rings for a larger serving of coleslaw.

Overall, it’s not a bad spot. The food was good, but the service was somewhat slow; however, I can’t really blame the staff since there was only one server working. They’re probably facing the same hiring challenges as many other places. The prices were a bit on the high side for a diner.
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the diner was inside, how quickly the food was served and by the quality of the food. My family and I had a great experience dining here after visiting the beach, and we'll definitely come back next time we're in town.
This use to be our go to diner. The last few times we went we were disappointed in our favorite salads. Service was slow and the food was not as good as it normally was. Since the new owners took over it hasn’t been the same.
The best Sunday morning breakfast we've had in years! Yes. We got a fresh pot of delicious coffee, the most amazing crab cakes ever, and Eggs Benedict done perfectly. I plant my flag on this spot! Good eatin' in the Hood.

Just try this local diner in Atlantic Highlands. They have a wealth of choices, including several Venezuelan dishes like their Gluten free Empanadas. Loved the chicken with fresh pico de Gallo with sweet plantains.
Great food and service and prices were good as well definitely will go back
