The Barking Dog is my happy place. Its the only bar of its kind in Bethesda. Filled with excellent bartenders, managers, staff, and people. They have giant ? for sports, tables if you want a more relaxed restaurant style service, and a big space upstairs for parties. This place feels like family in Bethesda and doesnt pretend to be something it isnt. Food is great, drinks are great. Everyone is welcome and you can play whatever music you'd like. Its a neighborhood bar for friends, family, and strangers to come together and have a good time.
This restaurant was fantastic! It wasn’t crowded, and they offered outdoor seating. Our server greeted us at the door and welcomed us inside. The appetizers arrived impressively quickly, and the buffalo wings were among the best I’ve ever tasted, definitely in my top three. Our main courses were delicious and hearty as well. Two additional servers stopped by to check on us during our meal, which was a nice touch. I would definitely eat here again. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
This charming old-school "dive bar" embodies the term in the best way possible. It's refreshing and down-to-earth, without a hint of pretentiousness. The diverse range of customers adds to the lively atmosphere, making it an entertaining spot to visit. Bob, the owner, is an exceptional host, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and well taken care of. It's a must-visit during your nights out in Bethesda, and you can easily settle in and enjoy the vibe for as long as you like.
Pro: outdoor seating, nice staff, big tv all around. Con: loud music. After getting a recommendation from a staff at world of bear, we decided to stop by and grab a drink. The establishment has tv all around to view at every angle. The staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The music was very loud and it was hard to hear conversations with our group.

Like this bar. I was introduced to Bethesda on my last business trip. It's a very cool little bar. The staff is friendly and helpful and always keeps your glasses full. I really like the ambience of the place as it is not a corporate chain that tries too hard to justify price-gouging. This is my bar for all my trips to the area.
Went to watch the World Cup Final. WOW, what a game. Had some irish coffee to start the morning, add two Raging B*tch beers. Good atmosphere. Their fries are decent too. The service was fast and consideret. Sat at the bar and had great view of the tv screen. They have plenty of screens around the place, awesome sports pub.
I've read some negative reviews, but I don’t agree with all of them. This bar is inclusive of all genders, races, religions, and beliefs, and I have never seen any form of discrimination here. I truly love this place and will continue to support it for as long as I can. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Stop for lunch on Friday afternoon and wait very fast! Menu had a wide choice. I had the Buffalo hot wings and they were delicious! Very well seasoned, crispy and were completely coated in the Buffalo sauce! Overall had a good experience and would definitely come back for the wings.

If you want a good drink, a happy hour pitcher with some friends, a few good chicken wings, or a sandwich that is the place to be. It's a bar that feels like a bar. Just play nothing stupid on the jukebox or the regulars will make fun of you (as they should).
Ginger dj on Friday night on the second floor is terrible. Let him go! Barservice is fantastic!
