Firstly, Google shows Rooms/Service/Location ratings, when my review is about The Barn at Moor Hall RESTAURANT. So take my room rating as being for the food..... I treated my mother for her 84th birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience. Service from Ross was exceptional. Especially his ability to make my mother feel special. There was a younger server who served our main course and his dish explanation was a little rushed and less clear -1), especially when explaining to an older person. Expensive and worth every penny. Had beef tartare and oyster, followed by turbot. Pudding was pannacota. Had delicious amuse bouche, magical green broth in addition to ordered courses. Great service and atmosphere. Brought wines for us to try to help us choose. Loved it.

Food is always absolutely fantastic, service is usually excellent. We’ve visited many times over the years and will continue to come back. Wayne the new sommelier is a brilliant addition to the team. He’s very knowledgeable/experienced, friendly and professional.

Roast beef was very good, but Yorkshire pudding was a bit tough, wasn't fresh from the oven. Everything else was spot on, including crispy roast potatoes.
