The Barra is quickly becoming one of the most popular eateries in Mortdale and for good reason. With an amazing selection of fresh seafood options matched with mouth watering burgers and delicious salads, it's no wonder there's a line of locals every lunchtime. Beef Burger with the LOT. This is exactly what I love about places like this. Real burgers packed full of everything. Juicy beef, lettuce, caramelized onions, beetroot, tomato, cheese, egg, pineapple and special maple bacon. A behemoth in flavour and size. Amen.
I absolutely love this place! The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I frequently come here to enjoy their veggie burger meal, and it has never let me down. They offer a wide variety of delicious salads to complement your meal, or you can enjoy them on their own. The atmosphere is relaxed, and there are plenty of seats available in the back. I highly recommend coming here instead of one of the other fish and chip shops along the road.
The Barra is Excellent! I don't live in the area and normally I won't eat in this type of places. But in the Barra everything is always fresh, fast, healthy, delicious and the price is Very good for the quality of the food!! Always that I am in the area the place for lunch is there. The dinning section is not good but it is understandable, they want to be more take away than dine in. I highly wish to have one of them in Surry hills

Now, I noticed on the menu that they offer a speck and egg roll on brioche bread, so I thought we’d return in the morning in hopes of a better experience and to write a more positive review. However, when we arrived and I looked at the board, I was met with a rude comment, asking if they could help me. I felt quite unwelcome at that moment.
My favourite take away or dine in fish shop, the food is amazing, and Dean and the staff are always so friendly, accommodating and have good energy, I look forward to my next visit every time! You must try it out!
A great local gem and very popular with the locals. The portions are big, fish and seafood is always fresh, and food is prepared very efficiently. It's a place that my wife and I visit every weekend.
I had the grilled salmon with dill and the rocket pear salad, accompanied by chips, and it was excellent, especially for under $17. I would definitely recommend Barra if you're in the area.

When I first went there when they opened it was amazing, last night I ordered fish cocktails for my son which was just fried batter no fish threw it out, unimpressed.
