Ma ciò nonostante era stracolmo di gente anche di lunedì sera. Pochissimi mangiano al ristorante, gli altri sono lì per una bevuta a scelta fra i molti cocktail e i circa 200 wiskies che fanno bella mostra di sé dietro il bancone. Si trova al 156 di Clareance St. E si entra da un portone scuro in legno, si percorre l'androne e alla fine si gira a destra (non vi fermate al locale che vi troverete sulla vostra sinistra !) In fondo al vicolo troverete il buttafuori accanto ad una porta tagliafuoco. Entrate e scendete le scale : altra porta tagliafuoco e ci siete! Comunque in Clearence st. accanto al portone adesso hanno messo un cartello di cui allego foto. Dimenticavo... ottima musica blues di...
Baxter's is your classic hidden small bar in Sydney and still to this day my favourite. It doesn't matter what night you walk in there it's always packed. I would suggest avoiding Friday nights as you'll end up in a one in one out queue and even when you get it it's so packed it's difficult to find anywhere to park yourself. Head there on a Tuesday or Wednesday and you might even be lucky enough to snag a table. Pretzels are always available on your table and an extremely impressive whiskey collection awaits you. If whiskey doesn't float your boat they also do an excellent selection of cocktails and beers. Wonderfully dark and somewhere to lose track of time.
This is a hipster type bar very cool low lighting and medium to small area for a underground bar it a Must to visit with restrictions to how many people at a time.Security only allow comfortable numbers to enter, most times there are people waiting to enter.The range of spirits to drink is huge the costs are reasonable depending on the age eg 300 year old scotch you will pay top dollar.This bar and its location is a holiday talk about with friend's.
We had a nice experience at Baxters. If you love scotch, Baxter is the place to go in Sydney. Hidden down a laneway and then underground it still gets popular on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. It can be hard to get service as the bar is long and the area narrow but well worth it for a splash. The cocktails are also strong and creative. Works for post work business meetings or drinks with friends.
We went there for drinks after work with colleagues on a Friday. The bar gets filled up pretty quickly and you won't get a table after about 4 pm. Huge selections of Whiskys and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Great cocktails too and free pretzels! Was a bit noise but a great meeting place for a couple of drinks after work.
We dropped into Baxters Inn for a post dinner whisky. They have an extensive range of whisky. The speakeasy decor in this hidden basement bar really adds to the atmosphere. Get there early in the evening if you want to grab a place to sit. It's a small space and very popular. Will return.
The Baxter Inn is simply one of the best bars you'll ever visit. From the moment you walk up to "the door" with no signage to the moment you leave again it's an experience. Great whiskeys, cocktails and beers on tap. You won't find much better bars! Reserva una mesa ahora
