Three girlfriends and I meet up once or twice a year and The Bayview is our venue of choice. I usually have the fish and chips, which are usually delicious. This time I had the cheese burger ($19.50) and was disappointed. The bun was small and a bit dry and the addition of pulled brisket as well as a mince patty was just weird. The chilli fries accompanying it were ridiculously salty and not very spicy. Maybe it's just me because 2 of my friends also ordered this and enjoyed it. The restaurant has an outdoor covered dining area with quiet music and comfortable cane furniture. The space is clean and spacious. The meals are impressive, with large servings that even two elderly neighbors could share a dish. The fish and chips were delicious, with large and chunky chips that were lightly fried. The salad was fresh and the prices for wine and beer were reasonable. The restaurant has different areas for couples, gamblers, lunchtime diners, and bar patrons. The service was excellent, with a attentive waitress constantly checking in on us. Parking is available nearby in a large council parking area. Overall, it was a pleasant and quiet lunch experience.

The Bayview is a popular pub in Gladesville that tends to get busy on Friday and Saturday nights, like most pubs. However, I had never really been inclined to visit until I received a phone call from my Dad inviting me to join him for some live music on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised by the great semi-acoustic act they had performing and by the size of the crowd that had gathered on a Sunday afternoon. The bistro at The Bayview offers typical pub meals, making it easy to grab a bite to eat and a beer while enjoying the free music. Just be sure to check the schedule for upcoming performances, as it may not happen every week.

The fitout is really nice however for a Sunday lunch it lacked atmosphere. I think it's because the food was only ok. The menu needs more variety. It didn't look like they changed it from when we last ate there a year ago. The food was ok but lacked a punch. Esp for the price. The aioli was the nicest part of the dish.. I'd give this place 2.5 stars if I could.

I recently had lunch at Bayview and it was quite disappointing. We ordered burgers and both of them were burnt. The $25 burger only came with about ten fries as well. A pub that doesn't serve good pub food? Not worth it!
