Four of us arrived yesterday evening (Sat) at about 20.10 after spending a few hours husband and son driving furniture from Aberdeen to Polmont to our Son and his Fiancée 's new home in Polmont and us helping them settle in as best we could before we headed out to have some food and Drink in the local Black Bull Restaurant. We hadn 't booked a table or phoned in advance so didn 't know if we were too late for food or not , however we were advised we were still in time to have food. We had 3 different meals , 1 large Beef Burger with all the trimmings1 large portion of Chicken Fajitas 1 large Chicken Breast Stuffed with Haggis homemade Fries and Broccoli and baby corn with gorgeous Peppercorn...
Went for breakfast this morning worst breakfast I have ever had staff were very unfriendly asked for some items of my breakfast and the staff said she did not want to tell the chef as he will shout at her, after some time the breakfast came out completely wrong toast just crumbled like it had been lying there for hours, bacon was like brick hard I had beans came with them and the waitress said can you just move them to the side and chef will not be happy if I take it back so just eat around the beans, no staff came over to ask if everything was ok with the breakfast . We then went to pay for the rubbish breakfast and the staff was so bad manners. FACT worst place for breakfast ever
Ordered a beefburger from evening menu when meal arrived presontation looked good .but upon cutting in to my burger I found it to be raw and I do mean raw and cold , I am a chef myself and have been in the catering trade all my life surely a probe should be in use...that aside may I say the rest of the staff could,nt have been nicer to us ,just a really poor meal spoiled the night .would still drink in pub but won't be back for food.
My family and I visited this restaurant for dinner, but ended up leaving without having coffee or dessert. The noise level was incredibly loud, which made it difficult for us to enjoy our meal and have a conversation. If the noise had not been so overwhelming, we would have been able to stay longer and fully enjoy the good food that was served.

Had dinner here was pleasantly surprised. Food was really good staff were friendly and attentive. Since my last visit, the place had been decorated/refurbished sported a nice modern feel. Reasonably priced would definitely eat here again.
Stopped off for a quick bite on way home from work. Really enjoyable. Service was brilliant. Not really family orientated but really enjoyable. Will come back and tell friends.
We sat outside for 15 minutes then went into the bar to ask , only to be told that they don't do food anymore. The advertising outside says they do .
I just tried the steak ciabatta with the incredible onion rings at this restaurant, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had.
