The Blacksmiths Arms

The food at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. The chips were burnt and not fresh, and the fried eggs were also burnt. A young boy served the food alongside the chef, which raises questions about who is actually cooking in the kitchen. When my husband complained, the child brought more burnt chips without resolving the issue. I was unable to eat my meal, and my husband and son left most of theirs as well. It was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning. Additionally, I question the legality of having a child work in the restaurant. The service was rated a 1, and the location a 2.

we stopped this afternoon and had a sandwich and chips (side). the service was very pleasant and friendly and the food was fresh and very tasty. we regularly travel from thorpe willoughby to york to be able to buy, we will definitely do this again and recommend our friends too. best cheese ham sandwich I had.

best pub for miles round. excellent service and great staff. the new owners, anthony and joanne are brilliant. large selection of beer, both design and filled as well as an excellent selection of special gins for everyone. eating is amazing, just make sure they are hungry, as there is quite a lot of it!

Stopped in for a drink after walking the dog along the river. Friendly staff and good old pub atmosphere Service: 5
