The Bluegrass Coffee Bourbon Lounge

This charming neighborhood coffee and bourbon lounge is a great find. We usually visit for brunch, but we're definitely planning to come back for happy hour to check out the pizzas and various whiskeys they offer. While the brunch menu is small, it really hits the spot. The breakfast burrito, with the option to add smothered pork green chili, is one of the best I've tried. It could use a bit more green chili to make it truly "smothered." The breakfast sandwich has a nice spicy twist thanks to the spicy ranch; I've never had a bacon sandwich with spicy ranch before, but it pairs beautifully with the sandwich. We really enjoy their pizza dough! There aren't many dining options in Candelas (for reasons unknown), but their pizza is more affordable than the one at Freedom Street and it tastes great! We've ordered takeout there twice in the past week. The staff was excellent during our first visit, but during the second, they seemed to be more than likely under the influence (though that’s still a fair assessment). No judgment, as long as our pizza is hot and fresh! Just so you know, they offer patio and open-air bar seating, which looks like it would be pleasant.

We have dined at this restaurant several times before, but this was our first Thursday visit. The live music was quite loud, but we found it enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service was rather slow; it took quite a while for us to receive both drinks and food, and I wasn't even asked if I wanted a drink. I've had delicious meals here in the past, but tonight’s dish was just average. We ordered one with red sauce, but I believe the dishes with white sauce are superior. I think everything would taste even better if it were cooked a little longer.

We ordered two 14-inch pizzas, and both were delicious. One had sausage with veggies, and the other was just sausage. The crust was nice and light, topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Everyone enjoyed them, including the kids. I picked up the pizzas, and the atmosphere inside was fantastic. There was live music playing as I left, which was great. The owner or manager got in touch with me and kindly offered a gift card for a free pizza. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza last week, and with the tip, it came to nearly $25. To be honest, the pizza wasn't impressive—I could barely taste the BBQ sauce. I had two slices for dinner, and I didn't even finish the leftovers, which is unusual for me since I usually eat all my leftovers. Overall, I found it to be quite overpriced for what you receive.

I had a business meeting that required catering options suitable for everyone. The Bluegrass turned out to be the perfect choice. Everything we ordered was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely return to the restaurant and place orders with them again.
