This friendly local pub offers large portions of home-cooked meals. While the menu isn't extensive, the quality is commendable. The service was excellent. There's a spacious outdoor area that is well-protected for dining outside, but we chose to eat in the cozy restaurant section.
Interesting place some parts date back to 1600. Has old road at rear with bridge across River Alyn. Meal was average and staff a bit jittery, but what can you expect in Wales, now that Covid 19 is the main issue with people here.
Amazing food, excellent beer bootlegger lager on draught is fantastic. Really good value, freshly cooked and always piping hot food. Good portion size. Puddings if you have room are stunning, the homemade cheesecake is a legend.
The pub is a charming old-fashioned establishment featuring plenty of newly designed outdoor space, as well as a large parking area. It's situated by the River Alyn, conveniently located between Mold and Caergwrle.

A charming little pub with plenty of character. They have a lovely riverside beer garden, which would be perfect for the summer months! I highly recommend trying the Sunday roast.
