The Britannia Inn - Reserva de mesa

This is one of my favorite pubs in the world! I've been coming here for 34 years. They have excellent beer and great food—I highly recommend the lamb shank; it’s truly wonderful (is "ponciness" even a word?). The staff is lovely, and the atmosphere and location are unbeatable. They have a constantly changing beer selection along with classic favorites; my personal favorite is Bluebird. The outdoor huts are also beautiful, and the staff goes above and beyond to help out whenever we have a request.

We always kick off our trips to the cottage with dinner at Britannia on the first night. We appreciate the inviting atmosphere and the convenience of being just a short walk away. The bartender quickly served us our pints with a friendly smile. The lamb is consistently excellent, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the suet pies. With great prices, a relaxed setting, and delicious, flavorful pub food, Britannia is always at the top of our list!

I spent the night here after a rainy hike in the area, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The rooms were charming and spotless, and the food was outstanding, featuring three perfectly cooked steaks! The breakfast in the morning was substantial and delicious. What more could you ask for in the Lake District on a dreary day? Thank you, everyone!

We had an absolutely perfect meal for my wife and me. As always, the staff provided first-class service, and everything was spot on. Just walked over from Grasmere and had lovely hot mulled wine and beautiful mushroom soup . Staff extremely friendly and helpful and all Covid precautions in place totally recommended this great pub.
