The Broughton Inn is a pleasant chain owned pub with traditional wood beam interior the type you would expect in a rural historic building that is over 150 years old. We visited for a pre Mothers Day meal with my parents and as they are in their eighties it was good to see that access was easy for them. One thing that they commented on was that parking was difficult as there were a lot of commercial vans taking up car parking space and they struggled to find somewhere to park. The Broughton Inn is a pleasant pub with traditional wooden beam interior, as you would expect in a rural historical building over 150 years old. We visited a Pre Mothers Day meal with my parents and since in their eighties it was good to see that access was easy for them. One thing they commented was that the parking was difficult as there were many commercial vans taking the parking lot and they fought to park somewhere. The food was very good and safe good value for money. The waitress who served us was pleasant and attentive. The only criticism we all agreed was that the surrounding music was a bit too loud. I'm sure it wasn't harassing the other guests, but for us it was a little diffic...
The food at the restaurant was excellent, however we were disappointed that our OpenTable voucher could not be used. It was not the fault of the employee, but the restaurant was not listed as an excluded establishment, so we were upset that we could not redeem it. We had even added a note to our booking as recommended by OpenTable stating that we would use the voucher as partial payment. The pub was also quite cold, and despite there being a sign at the fireplace instructing guests to ask for it to be lit when cold, we were told that it could not be done.
Food was very good, however disappointed that we couldn’t use our OpenTable cheque. This is not the staffs fault however the restaurant is not on the list of excluded restaurants so it was annoyed by that we could not use it. I had also added a note to the booking as recommended by opentable stating that I would be using the cheque as part payment. The pub was also quite cold and by a fireplace there was a sign saying to ask staff to light the fire if you’re cold, but we were just told they can’t.

Main courses were very nice. Disappointed that you were unable to order a mini dessert without a hot drink as we have been able to do this at other Vintage Inns. When informed that this wasn't an option the waitress immediately asked if we wanted the bill giving the impression that as we weren't ordering a dessert they didn't wish us to stay, even though the place wasn't busy. She did the same with another couple. Surprised as places usually wait until asked for the bill.

We made a last-minute reservation for New Year's Eve and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and excellent service at this restaurant. It is definitely worth a visit and offers good value for money. I would recommend it and would return again. The only drawback is that the decor and furnishings could use some refreshing. Other than that, we had a great evening.
Food cold service bad . Staff swearing. Very bad experience . only 2 of us in restaurant and given darkest pokiest table, I asked to be moved to a table where I could see what I was eating an was told they were fully booked! ! 10 people on total when we left. What a joke .....not
