The Bull On The Green

I visited here yesterday evening to have a meal with my family. The welcome was very pleasant however from there it went downhill. The drinks were fine however the food was quite tasteless. We had starter’s of Leek Potato soup, which although hot, was quite bland, we also had the Chicken Liver Pate, although the portion size was good, again this was very bland, also the bread which came with it was very ordinary. The other two starters were Garlic Bread… which were just that; Garlic Bread. I used to come here all the time and it was one of my favourite places. However unfortunately I visited a couple of days ago and I don’t know if there has been a change of management but it is nothing like it was before. We were sat under the window down the front of the pub and once we were seated we seemed to be ignored for some time. Eventually my partner got up to go to the bar to order drinks to find the staff all gathered together talking. When my partner arrived at the bar the staff saw her yet continued to have their conversation. Eventually we were seen to but felt like a nuisance. The ambience of the place is great when you initially walk in but we got seated at the back annex which is cold and unfriendly. I ordered a burger and fries and it was something you could of brought from Iceland and cooked it at home. The food was unaspiring and poorly presented.. £61 for one starter and two mains and drinks for two persons. They need to get a decent chef..

Excellent food, absolutely delicious especially Sunday Roast, however extremely unprofessional bar staff who felt it more important to gossip than look after customers. Oh dear, only a few weeks ago I could not find a single fault. Now unfortunately I can’t find anything positive. . I won’t be going back for a long time

Really yummy food and such good value! Staff were warm and welcoming. Proper home cooked food in such a lovely atomosphere. would definitely go again.
