"We got 3 things here, the strawberry shortcake, the vanilla cupcake, and the passion fruit mousse. Everything was stale! The only thing I actually enjoyed was the layer of whipped cream in the strawberry shortcake. But you could taste that all these things were sitting out for at least a few days. It was a shame not one thing was fresh. It was unfortunately a waste of money coming here."

I'll preface this with that my review is specifically for the tiramisu. The people working there are fine (although the workers ignored me for a minute despite there being no other customers around), the interior is clean and nicely decorated, and the rest of their goods may very well be good... but since I've only ordered the tiramisu that's all I can base this on.Their tiramisu is not tiramisu. If you've had authentic tiramisu before you'll notice immediately that what they are selling is more like simple chocolate cake with some flavorless mousse and a dusting of cocoa powder. There's no hint of mascarpone, espresso (ironically a few coffee beans adorn the top, though) , amaretto, or any ladyfingers used in the layering. It's an eternal struggle of mine to roll the dice at any restaurant or bakery and hope that I get lucky and actually get authentic-tasting tiramisu... more often than not, I am disappointed. So I am simply leaving this review for any other prospective tiramisu-seekers out there. Take heed, you will not find the tiramisu that you seek here.

Planning for a birthday party, Mike C. offered to bring the cake for the birthday celebrant. I was looking forward to tasting this cake, as he finds great delicious eats from his culinary adventures. He brought the cake out after dinner and it was Coffee Crunch Cake from The Cakery. First thing you notice was all the coffee crunch candy on the outside. I tried a slice and the three layers of vanilla sponge cake was moist from the light coffee syrup and layered with whipped cream. The coffee crunch candy provided a nice texture contrast with each bite, though I found the candy to be a little on the sweet side. Thanks Mike C for bringing this and letting us try another tasty coffee crunch cake for us to consider from The Cakery.

I have gotten cake from here several times: Swedish Princess, Mango Mousse, etc. All have been really amazing, fresh, and delicious. My favorite is the mango mousse it doesn't taste heavy, the flavors are refreshing and subtle enough to detect the mango fruit, and the mousse is light and airy. More recently, I've been ordering cakes here for pick up for events like a birthday or our baby shower. Placing an order online is really easy and the timing of pick up is a breeze. I know I can always count on The Cakery to deliver. I'll be back!

The cakes and sandwiches are good but the service, 2 thumbs down! We felt rushed right from the start and were told that they will start stacking up chairs in 20 minutes because they close at 7PM--it was only 6:10PM. They had no utensils, the coffee machine was down, so no coffee, no hot water for tea. They can close for good and I don't think people will miss them. There are many other bakeshops and restaurants offering better food and service in the area.
