I had heard so much about this place so visited with a colleague of mine for lunch. I ordered soup and a toasted special on brown bread (ham, cheese, tomato and onion) but I asked for no onion (dietary reasons). My colleague only asked for a toasted special. We sat down as we decided to eat in, and our toasties arrived. I was waiting for my soup before I ate my toastie, but it never came. Once the soup arrived, after I asked for it again, I tried the toastie which was loaded in onions. Too much to just pick out so I asked for it to be remade without the onions. This is a beautiful little Basement Cafe, frequented by local Business people, so definetly worth a visit if you are a passing tourist. The service at the counter is very friendly and nothing is a problem to the staff, whether its different choices of breads or fillings for your sandwich. The star of the show is however the homemade soup, which is made by the owner, i describe it to my friends as soup like your mother or Granmother would make, full of chunky vegetables, and perfectly seanoned. If you ask the owner he will be delighted to give you the recipe.

We enjoyed breakfast at the Salt Cellar three times on our recent trip to Dublin, after returning from Italy. The cappuccinos were exceptional, surpassing any we had during our time in Italy. Eva would make them to our liking, whether dry or wet. The breakfasts were also delicious, with farm-fresh eggs, avocado, and cheese toasties. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, everything we could have wanted.

Had heard good things about this place from people who eat here regularly. Have to say I was disappointed though. Had a very average sandwich and the basement room looks like it hasn't been touched for a long time verging on grim.

Had high hopes for this place but unfortunately as I don’t eat meat or dairy I ended up with a plate of leaves, tomato, avocado and onion with some balsamic on top. Would’ve loved some more salad options : Staff are lovely though.

Lovely coffee. Nice spot to sit in and have a bite to eat. Cosy and quite. Great Ham Cheese Toastie. Staff are nice too.
