When I was in residence as organist at Gloucester cathedral for a week two summer’s ago, we decided we should give this place a try somewhat later in our stay. I wondered if the pews came from the cathedral whenever they swapped them for chairs. I’m sorry to say we didn’t try this place sooner, as everything was beautifully done and well seasoned (which is not what I can say for the main pub in town that shall remain nameless, but perhaps they’ve since discovered salt). The lunch is still memorable to this day and the meat and mushroom pie was wonderful. The service was good and it was neat dining on a pew.
I had a fantastic morning with friends enjoying breakfast at the Comfy Pew. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival. The staff were top-notch and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful time and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. I will definitely be returning again and again. If you haven't tried the Comfy Pew yet, you're missing out on the best spot in Gloucester City Centre. Kudos to the entire staff for a job well done.
I adore this restaurant! Whether I'm taking my children for breakfast or lunch on our days off, or popping in alone, we always feel incredibly welcome. The interior is charming with its pews and the location right next to the cathedral is perfect. The staff is wonderful and the food is consistently amazing. I would highly recommend this place. We make sure to visit every time we're in town because we simply love it.
We were in Gloucester visiting friends and we decided on the comfy pew for lunch. We had been out the night before and were in need of a good breakfast…unfortunately it was nearly 2pm! The staff were fantastic when asked if we could possibly have some breakfasts. No problem at all! The food was delicious, and couldn’t fault the service. Can’t wait to visit again when we are down.

Apologies as this review is long overdue. We have had several breakfasts, lunches and an afternoon tea… all plentiful and absolutely delicious The owner and staff are so friendly, always make you feel welcome. Lovely menu, lots of choice, well worth a visit. There are even occasional organised evening events, the 80s quiz night was fab!
Nice and cosy restaurant, closely located next to the Gloucester Cathedral. The people working hear are lovely, the food tastes great and the atmosphere inside is calm and relaxing. Definitely recommend eating places like here instead of those fast food locations.
An amazing experience at this restaurant! The staff was outstanding and the breakfast was the best I've ever had. They were very accommodating and the location was perfect. Don't miss out on this place, you'll regret it!
My husband and I enjoyed a great breakfasts, nothing was too much of an effort for any of the staff, dog friendly, will definitely visit again

Lovley warm welcome from the staff . Clean and comfortable and service was fast, only waited about 5 min for food and it came out piping hot.
Everytime we pop in the food is always so good, and everyone is so friendly great place to chill and enjoy the local sights
