The food was generally just bad, especially their Cuban sandwich (which they wouldn’t shut up about) and yes, the service was awkward and uncomfortable. But restaurants suck sometimes, it happens. I was originally just gonna leave it be. HOWEVER, after reading reviews, the owners incessant need to save his fragile ego by responding to EVERY SINGLE low review (some of which have valid criticisms) is equal part’s hilarious as it is sad. This place has become an inside joke among our family because of the owner’s short temper and unrestricted computer access. But honestly, I’ll take a good laugh at the expense of Chef Michael in exchange for some bad food any day.

I'm relieved to see this restaurant has closed down, hopefully for good! The owner is only nice during your first visit. On my last trip, he actually kicked me out without any explanation. The only thing I can think of is that he was upset because my husband accidentally spilled his Diet Coke during an earlier visit. Regardless, the owner's behavior is a disservice to the city of Sanford and gives a poor impression of what is otherwise a really great town!

The Corner Cafe is BACK OPEN! Join us on Fridays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. My husband and I absolutely adore Chef Michael and his delicious homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches! Every dish is served hot and fresh in a wonderfully cozy setting. The Corner Cafe is our favorite spot in Historic Downtown Sanford. Service: Dine-In, Meal Type: Dinner, Price Range: $10–$20 per person.

We had an incredible dining experience with exceptionally friendly staff. We felt welcomed the moment we walked in. I tried the French onion soup, which was absolutely delicious, while my partner had the Cuban sandwich and said it was fantastic! We can't wait to come back. Reserva una mesa ahora
