The District Eatery Tap Barrel

Second visit, won't be the last. Food is the star here, with service also exceeding expectations. We've been lucky both visits to have the chef's wife as our server. She's enthusiastic, professional and has perfect timing as to when to visit the table. My wife had the filet. Cooked as advertised (medium rare to medium), it was full of flavor and almost fork tender. I had the short ribs which were meaty, flavorful and paired well with the risotto. We split a Caesar salad to start and brought our own wine. We always appreciate a restaurant willing to provide a corkage policy, and return to those restaurants frequently.

OpenTable 's noise level selection says vibrant . There is no choice for noisy. Beat expectations on food and service, but you wouldn 't want to go here if conversation was a significant need in the experience. My companion and I couldn 't hear each other even though we were seated at a relatively small table for two. We 'll certainly try it again, but I hope they figure out a way to block the dining room from the bar. And while the food was outstanding, I worry about the limited menu.

the filet, the part that was edible was good. large part of cracked and fat. the bar has charged extra for mixer in drink. order gin and tonic. additional fee for the tonikum. cashier was asked and later the additional fee was removed. server was traveled extremely and spent little time checking on us. the rest of the meal was ok except for the quality of the stock with the price we paid. will think twice about returning!

eating was really great, although the menu is extremely limited. they were well executed. only a part that fell a little short was the service....it was good, but he seemed like he was new to work. no deal breaker, so we'll be back next time. it is a great place if they are in sanford and want something better than just bare food. The Chef really knows what they are doing. Open only three months at the time, The District Eatery came as a pleasant surprise to me and five other foodies when we popped in on a Friday night. We will definitely be back. From the drinks to the dessert everything was creative and perfectly executed. Just eat it all. :

The restaurant was bustling, and we had to wait for a table. Fortunately, a spot at the bar became available, so we were able to sit down. The food was incredible, and our server was very knowledgeable, suggesting dishes that perfectly suited our tastes. I will definitely return to this place!

Incredible quality of food, reasonable prices, excellent service...couldn't be happier with my meal the mahi. My son loved it too. Hubby had the pork chop and said it was the best. My son ordered the filet and loved it. About time downtown Sanford got a place like this.

limited menu, but eating was very good except the muscles that were very gritty. the tuna taco magic are both excellent.

the food was excellent, but the noise was extreme. When I go back, I'll insist on eating out to avoid the noise.
