The Crescent Fish Chips

Drove 40 minutes to this fish and chip shop as reviews were o.k and ones round me were closed. I wish I haven’t. Worse fish and chips I have ever had. I asked for large cod and if that’s their large then what is their small like! I was charged for the large but I ? Was it! Large chips were cold shrivelled up probably hours old being kept warm, tasted of cardboard. I was overcharged by 50p when I asked how much, it’s not going to break the bank but it’s wrong, I did not question it as the girl had not put my two pieces of fish and chips in the bag. It’s a shame as it was part of my 3 day holiday. Never mind we learn from our mistakes

Although it is rated in the top 50 fish and chip shops it is,at best,average. It only shows what a complete sham these surveys are. Whilst the fish are acceptable the chips are tasteless. The peas are something else. The ones I were served were a cold, dark green mush. They looked as if they had been scraped off the residue of a luke warm pan and were completely inedible. If it had not been for the fish being ok I would have returned the peas. Although I feel that the 'top 50 ' survey is completly misleading, I would comment that the Golden Fry in Benllech is of a far better standard.

OMG, I and my family tried this fish chip shop as it had good reviews and its only fish chip shop that sells cod fish unless you go to Prestatyn or Mold... It was the first time we tried this shop and omg it was excellent the fish was beautifully cooked and the chips were lovely... My daughter had peas and curry sauce and that also taste fabulous. We travelled from Holywell to try them and we will definitely be back the best fish and chips I have had in a very long time, would recommend it to anyone you will not be disappointed. The staff were also lovely A1 Service thank you :

My friend and I stopped off here today on our way to Holywell. I had seen it listed in the Daily Telegraph's Top 50 best fish and chip shops. Last time we were in Holywell it was on a day the chip shop was closed. We will definitely call in again. It was well worth the detour. Lovely light batter on the fish and delicious chips. Friendly, happy service. What more could you want?

I thought it was the best chippy in the town until i found a long blonde hair in my peas. It's a shame because I usually go every Wednesday and pick up fish chips and peas for my elderly mother, I will have to go somewhere else unfortunately.So sorry to write this review

I was on my way home from a meeting and instead of using a55 I went along coast rd because of I was told about this place. Best fish and chips I’ve had in along time, and with onion gravy OMG the best. Staff very friendly, price reasonable.

Great chippy freshly cooked to order fish crispy chips, lovely onion gravy we tried the battered black pudding very tasty very nice pork pies too friendly service good price's can't asked for more

Decided on this chippy due to the award won. Tbh nothing special. Forgot an item and plaice was well over cooked making it inedible. I’ll stick to my usual if future.
