Visited ‘The Crown’ for a lunchtime meal over the weekend of ‘The Dickensian Christmas Fair’. For a Shepherd Neame establishment I would have expected better. Although it was acknowledged by staff that the day would be busy and all tables taken there still seemed to be insufficient staff on duty. It took in excess of 45 minutes for three adult and one child’s meal to arrive. The ham, egg and chips arrived with three thin half slices of ham and eggs running in excess fat. It really was an overall disappointing meal. I do acknowledge that the day was busy but I really do feel they underestimated the number of staff needed to satisfy their customers.
My partner and I visited Rochester for the Sweeps Festival on Sunday, April 30th. We stopped in for a drink and were attended to by a young lady named Jade. She recommended a new menu to us, and we decided to order the crispy chicken burger and chicken wings. Jade was our waitress and served the food with a smile and engaging conversation. We ended up staying at the restaurant for a few more hours because of the great atmosphere and service. Thanks to Jade for making our first visit to Rochester a memorable one.
Don’t trust this place AVOID, both mangers slag off customers, staff are treated and spoken down to and treated like ****, staff aren’t treated with respect, it’s all about the money and hitting targets.Place is over priced and the food isn’t worth the money nothing on site is fresh Wouldn’t even give it one star
On a day trip to Rochester we decided to visit The Crown for Sunday Lunch. Although the price was higher than we expected there was no quibble about the food. A good selection of meat and ample vegetables, although the more popular ones would have been appreciated.

We had a great experience at The Crown, enjoying their new menu. The chilli & lime prawns, duck tostados, and silly moo dirty fries were all delicious and flavorful. The staff were exceptional, and we highly recommend paying a visit to this restaurant.
The tables were sticky and the service was poor. One of our dinner plates arrived more than 15 minutes after everyone else was served, as it needed time to unfreeze the fish. The chairs looked worn and in bad shape.
A great pub to spend the evening and the staff were fun and welcoming, a great atmosphere between them which made our night more relaxed and enjoyable. The food is scrumptious and good price for all!
Met with friends after work. At first I thought the pub was a bit tired. However, the service was good and the food delicious. Will definitely go again. Thank u
