What a shame. Always raved about this place. Usually great food, lovely staff and fantastic value. Sadly, on a recent visit we had occasion to comment that we weren't happy with one plate of food. We waited for the bill and commented when it arrived...having had no acknowledgement that we were not happy let alone an apology, that we didn't feel it was right to ask us to pay full price for that one meal. To say I am horrified with the response is an understatement. The chef rushed over to the table and started shouting at us! When we said we were unhappy paying for that part of the meal she threatened to call the police. The owner then came over and told us that no-one else had complained and...

we have booked dinner in restaurant for 6 people. this restaurant was previously excellent. their carving on Sunday was the best. 3 steaks were all med rare ordered. a rump that came in two small thin pieces was very overcooked and we couldn't. even cut. 2 ripening, both bad quality cuts I have to ask the cut in question)! You were returned, but the kitchen refused to take it back and said that it was not wrong with it. the edges were edible, but most of them were hard and insensitive. they would not allow the customer to pay for an upgrade of a filet to replace it. the chef said there was nothing wrong with the rib eye, so wish another complete dinner payment for the upgrade steak. my man and I were over and decided to call the Easter Sunday afternoon. we had not booked, but fortunately they had made a cancellation so that we could fit. we enjoyed our meal, garlic mushrooms / bark meat / eton pork loans / sticky toffee pudding. the restaurant was very spacious and was very nicely decorated. a thing that turned out especially for us was the service, this place really runs like a clockwork, so efficient and everyone organizes and knows what he does. definitely recommended, booking recommended.

The Crown was centrally situated for a lunchtime meeting of three couples each travelling from different directions. The Restaurant was spacious bright and airy and tables were well distances from each other. Covid precautions were excellent. The menu was based on honest pub favourites and...was well cooked and presented. Portions were generous and prices were very fair. Service was very good. We will be back Reserva una mesa ahora

The crown hosted our anniversary party allowing us to have exclusive use of the back rooms. We had 70 people attend for a catered BBQ. The guests commented how nice the food was and how friendly the staff were. Nothing was too much trouble and...we would definitely use this venue again in the future. Thank you helping to make our party a success!

the frying and the sweet were exceptionally good and the staff was very courteous above all. very friendly and very welcome to feel from the local customer group would also highly recommend. thanks for a great visit, jules

had the perfect lunch best fish and chips per other 3 in party also satisfied. service was first class, as always beautifully designed waiter credit to the facility well done trew and sharon away a joy to eat here.

Just had Sunday lunch here and although the meats and fresh veg were nice the potatoes and roast parsnips were like rocks! You couldn’t cut them at all, so won’t be going back Sorry!! Reserva una mesa ahora

Fab food at a really good price. Beef and turkey was tasty and a good choice of veg. We will be back ASAP
