My wife and I visited this lovely clean Inn for my birthday treat organised by my daughter and Lynn the manager. The table was booked for 6.30.On arriving it was very quiet but of course it was quite early evening. The lady behind the bar gave us a lovely greeting served us drinks and the gave us the option of seating, as it was quite a cold evening we chose to sit near the wood burning fire. We indicated that we were ready to order, Lynn presented us with the menu and we both selected the Lamb trio. Lamb fritter, a miniture pan of shepards pie and lamb joint. Fabulous venue. Traditional feel as you step inside to a clean country pub with nicely stocked bar and friendly greetings from staff. A snug area with real fire working in the cold days makes it all the more inviting for a longer linger. Outside in the warmer weather is lots of outdoor seating and a children’s play area with large carpark. Through to the orangery with fabulous country side views for a relaxing meal. Staff were polite and nothing too much trouble. We had a Sunday lunch of Derbyshire roast beef ..not to be missed it was amazing with a giant Yorkshire pudding! We came here for a couples dinner (8 of us). It was a stormy night and it was lovely to be greeted by a roaring fire. The menu has a good variety of tempting food. I had the salmon scotch egg which is something I'd never had before. It was beautiful. I had surf and turf for my main. Here is where my only criticism arises. My steak was medium rare (I'd ordered medium) and my wife's was rare (medium rare was ordered). We mentioned it to the staff just to let them know. The service was excellent. Good Sunday roast. Were a party of 10 and all enjoyed the meal. Roast potatoes could have been a bit more roasted rather than boiled and meat gravy instead of veg gravy would have been preferable, but every other element was spot on.

A pristine location with great views, weather permitting. We went today, Sunday arvo. As always the food and service were brilliant. That’s all we want- well done.
Family gathering for a birthday, great atmosphere and food. Staff accomodating and pleasant. But ideal to just drop in and chill to.
Popped in for a shandy Sunday afternoon. Great outdoor area with spectacular views.
