The Golden Pheasant

Tried Czech food last night, just look at the size of this weiner schnitzel it is huge! It came with so much fries and also a side salad. Came out of kitchen crispy and hot! Also had the beef goulash with bread dumpling (basically steamed bun) had nice spice flavour and veggies but the beef was very lean and chewy, roasted beef in root vegetable cream sauce was a little dry and tough but the cream sauce and side of cranberry sauce made it much better and also got the beef tripe soup, caution very oily and super hot, very black peppered taste. If you come here definitely order the schnitzel. The food was great for sharing, and tip don't order the schnitzel individually, you will not finish it...

Best schnitzels ever ??We picked up 3 schnitzel dinners (with yummy potato salad and tartar sauce on side) ... drove back to Waterloo and had a Euro feast at home. Us Czechs, and even our daughter's canadian boyfriend, loved it. There was so much food left over, we were eating it for 2 more days!Portions are massive, taste and seasoning of food is spot on, service is friendly and accommodating ... what's not to love?You owe it to yourself to go and try it, I am fairly certain you won't be disappointed.

In comparison to other Central European restaurants in Toronto, this restaurant stands out as the most authentic. They offer a Slovak menu with a variety of Slovak and Czech favorite dishes, beers, and desserts. The food arrived quickly, in generous portions, and tasted perfect. The only drawbacks were the outdated interior and basic patio. Prices are comparable to other restaurants, but I would suggest smaller portions and slightly lower prices. Overall, it is definitely worth the money.

Epic schnitzel!Came here with friends, had the schnitzel and went home with overflowing take-away boxes.All the food we had was perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. Service was pleasant and attentive, but the decor and surroundings could use a bit of sprucing up.But since the portions were massive and so well cooked, we are already planning another visit (unfortunately, we live in Waterloo, so it is a bit out of our way).We will be back. We have been going here since the spring of 2016 and service and staff have been consistently wonderful! The food is superb and the portions are very generous. I highly recommended trying all dishes they are truly authentic Czechoslovakian and enjoy a nice pint of draft beer with them too! Compliments to the chef! It’s also very nice to sit on the patio where we sat today.

Just like Bubcha used to make. Authentic Slovak food. Fried cheese is just like I remember having it in a pub in Dolny Kubin. The goulash and dumplings was very good. The schnitzel is the biggest I’ve ever seen and so delicious. This is a family run business that puts the love in their food.

Excellent place for the most perfect meal. The portions are huge to say the least, and the quality of food is excellent.Definitely will return to this restaurant, I was more than pleased. The price is very good for portions much to my surprise.Parking: Parking very accessible
