The Golden Pheasant

Thought it would be nice for a few of the mums from school to go for a lunch during the holidays and had heard that The Golden Pheasant had a large play area for the children. of us seemed to overhelm the kitchens capacity and what they turned out can only be described as disgraceful. The service was slow and the young girl that served us was positively mardy. I think she was hung over! The drinks seemed expensive for a small glass of house Shiraz? The food was ok in part but two of us had chicken that wasn't cooked through properly I thought. Generally we won't be in a rush to go back to the pub that the children thought smelled funny

Seemed a little unorganised when we arrived but putting this down to a wedding buffet that was happening the same time as we arrived nonetheless, you get lovely generous homemade portions of food, not to expensive. Everyone is really friendly. Love the little touches of proper napkins, sauces in jars instead of unsightly bottles and flowers/candles. Had a lovely country pub feel to it and the countryside surroundings are lovely ... will be back.

Just a quick message to say a big thank you to you both for hosting the birthday celebration for Rob last month Everyone had a fantastic time and we were really impressed by the organisation of the rooms, the buffet, the fab service and for accommodating the brilliant band Cosmic Rodney ! I had to start the chicken liver parrot was really nice. I had the steak and the Ale Pie. I was so impressed by the taste and the amount of meat in it. my partner had the pork bell that was in front of location. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an informal environment with great food. Reserva una mesa ahora

We enjoyed an excellent lunch at The Golden Pheasant on August bank holiday Monday. 10 out of 10 for the food and customer service. Will definitely recommend to all our family and friends.

the best Brat dinner I've had for years. great service, beautiful staff, beautiful location. roasts are the first Sunday of the month and I will be back
