Our first time dinning here was around 5yrs ago, the meal we had then was outstanding. It was traditional but gourmet standards. Don't know what happened since our first visit, a new chef or ower, or both, but this meal was very disappointing. My husband ordered the traditional schnitzel dinner and was surprised at how small the cutlet was. It was no more than approx. 6" diameter. Use to be you could hardly see the plate the cutlet was so big, which is expected at Hungarian and other eastern european restaurants, it is a real skill to get it that big. I ordered the wooden plate for one. Portion of each item was fine. but the cabbage roll, OMG! was the absolute worst this Hungarian has ever had! Never, ever is caraway seed used. Don't get me wrong I love caraway, but this was over done and the caraway was burnt which made it taste bitter. I asked our server what kind of meat this was because it did not taste like pork at all. She tried to convince me that this was some transdanubian version. please do not call this Hungarian food because it is not even close! Transdanubian or not, it tasted horrible.I can only give 2 stars for service, the girl was prompt, friendly and attentive. Not her fault the food was horribleWe will not be back and will not recommend this place to anyone interested in traditional Hungarian or Eastern European food.

Upon walking in, I was not sure if it was seat yourself or wait to be seated. Luckily the hostess came over as soon as she us and sat us down. I would recommend making a reservation because almost every table was full. I order the chicken meal and it came with potatoes, and vegetables, I also ordered the goulash soup. The meal was phenomenal and the portion size was huge which made for leftovers for lunch the following day (how lucky am I to enjoy my favorite meal twice)! We then had the apple strudel for dessert to split. It was equally delicious. The only downfall of the experience was when the waitress came over and complained about another table and having to split their bills', although I imagine annoying, please refrain from telling me opposed to say a co-worker.

We had the jager schnitzel meal and a platter. Schnitzel was breaded with a sauce including dumplings and soup, cabbage. Could not sub a salad. It was just OK...a lot of breading and starchy dumplings. The platter for one was expensive for what it was. A large breading pork, 2 small meats, (pork and chicken), a small part of a sausage and a small fatty piece of bacon, 3 very small salads and a cabbage roll to start. The cabbage roll was excellent. I was really expecting great food but wasn't impressed. The decor/atmosphere was loud and very small. Seems as if they are trying to make it look like an upscale restaurant yet there is a flatscreen TV? The server was very nice and fast as well. The food was just OK and not worth the price.

Had a great meal at this lovely little restaurant. Schnitzel and paprikash were good but the stars were the homemade desserts! The Somloi galuska should not be missed. Huge portions and staff were attentive and friendly.
