We came to the green turtle on Veterans Day to meet some friends for dinner. We love the green turtle and have never had bad service. This particular evening it was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waitress was not very good we waited a long time for our food I believe within an hour for our food to come out and it was cool when he got there. The only thing that made it better with the manager came out and comped our meal which we did not ask for we just wanted a corrected check that the waitress had messed up three times. The more I go to the Greene Turtle in Middletown, the more disappointed I become. The food selection is great, but the service is awful. My food was not only cold, my servers never checked on my table or brought us half of what we asked for. The kitchen was also out of the food that we had ordered, and rather then informing us of the shortage after ordering our appetizer, the food was never brought out to us at all, leaving us more hungry to leave the restaurant then before we came. I understand being busy, but if you do not have enough waitstaff, then people should not continued to be seated.
I have been coming to this restaurant since it first opened. In recent years, there have been some challenges with changing managers, staff, and inconsistent quality and service. However, our visits in May and June 2022 were fantastic! The new manager, Adam, was exceptional—attentive, remembered us from before, and checked in with us several times during our meal to make sure everything was perfect. Our server, Paula, was also wonderful. Thanks to this great experience, we will definitely be making The Greene Turtle one of our regular weekly dining destinations.
Our recent visit was disappointing compared to our previous experiences. The appetizer arrived just a few minutes after our main dishes, leaving us with no time to enjoy it. The whole purpose of an appetizer is to have something to nibble on while waiting for the main meal. Additionally, the appetizer we received was incorrect, and we had to wait for the missing item, which ended up being served after we finished eating. To add to the frustration, my son wanted to change the channel on the TV at our table, but none of the controls worked.

At The Greene Turtle, my wife ordered the cake sandwich, which turned out to be a complete disaster—completely unacceptable. While our waiter was excellent and apologized for the error with the spicy broth, even removing it from our bill, no one from management came over to offer an apology. My margarita was weak and had an unpleasant salty taste near the bottom of the glass. It seems this is the typical experience at The Greene Turtle’s menu during a busy Sunday afternoon in sports season.
Food is great but service is always extremely slow even if it’s empty. Waiting 5 minutes to get acknowledged at the door. 10 minutes for a drink you order with only 4 other people in the restaurant. Girl manager is awesome though. Extremely sweet and caring

The service was outstanding. The food was okay. I had the cheesesteak, but it arrived lukewarm, so I probably wouldn’t order it again. That said, the staff were wonderful!
The staff were friendly, but nothing memorable about them. The same goes for the food.
