The Hungry Monk

Christmas night get together with friends. It was very expensive £65 and we were crammed in barely able to get out of our seat for our lukewarm food. It would appear that only 3 large desserts where put out, once they went, tough luck. Value for money 2/5. Entertainment was good, but a dance floor to fit only 4 people due to the massive overcrowding. The servers doing the drinks were very good too. The Entertainment rescued what would have been a very poor evening.

Stumbled across this quirky bar on a visit to Southport, had a drink at the bar and booked a table for the evening as we liked the look of the place. The food was very good, the staff were excellent and we weren’t rushed. My only comment would be to move some of the tables away from the bar as it is more like a restaurant and there was no room to sit at the bar and have a drink after the meal. All in all a good experience and we will be back.

Visited today to celebrate a 40th with 3 generations (14-73) and a dog. We are regulars as this is our 3rd visit this year but that is because we love the relaxed atmosphere and fabulous food. The staff are so lovely and friendly and it is our favourite place to go to eat in Southport. I walked past this quirky restaurant so many times over the years and wish I’d ventured in sooner.

We had a 60th birthday celebration here last night and could not fault the whole evening. The food was lovely, great atmosphere and a fantastic Abba Tribute act. Many thanks to John, Natalie and all the staff who worked hard in accommodating our requirements for a large number of guests.

Really is the best restaurant is Southport. Food is fantastic and staff really friendly. Had another steak cooked to perfection last night, thank you very much! 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals!
