We have dined at this restaurant for over 30 years, but unfortunately, it has really declined and has finally disappointed us completely. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and it was terrible. The clams on top were tough, and the decorative mussels were excessively large, measuring over three inches—definitely not delicate. The oysters were also problematic; they were not opened and I couldn't get them open with the provided utensils (a fork and butter knife), though I usually have no trouble with oysters. We had another fantastic meal at Impudent Oyster! Our all-time favorite waitress, Annette, took care of us again, and she is truly the best we've ever encountered! She is incredibly helpful, kind, and funny. We absolutely adore her and hope to have her serve us every time we visit! The food is outstanding, particularly the sirloin and swordfish Piccata. And you make the best Cosmos in Chatham! If I could give you 10 stars, I certainly would!
Celebrated a birthday and Linda made the whole evening very special. She was very attentive and helped us with making sure our meal was gluten free. The food was spectacular oysters were fresh, the sea bass perfectly cooked, and the steak/lobster tail was delicious. Thank you for making this a perfect birthday dinner. The food was excellent, great seafood, good sized portions. Scallops were awesome. The place tries to be upmarket casual, however does not warrant the prices as the service is not 5 star, nothing to do with the staff, they were great it's how they are trained and the policy defining the level of service. This is the best restaurant I've visited on the Cape! If you're looking for a more laid-back vibe, I recommend sitting at the bar. The food was absolutely amazing. I came here with my boyfriend, and we ordered the white fish with crab and the surf and turf (sorry, I can't remember the exact names). I'll never forget this meal – it was that good!
Unsure how you could give anything less than 5 stars across the board to the Impudent Oyster. Best meal I’ve had in years would have cost way more at other spots in Chatham. In the hospitality industry, especially in a tourist area, it would be beneficial for the hostess to improve her interpersonal skills and consistently display a polite attitude. Other one-star reviews have also pointed out that the hostess was very rude.
