The Ivy Royal Tunbridge Wells

The waiter who served us (older balding swarthy man) tried to act ‘quirky’ with attitude. Never says please or thank you and sort of shouts in your face. V weird Food- average and dry. Overpriced same boring old menu. Ambience strange, tables bored with trying to catch a waiters eye. Tried to get my bill. Waitress who seems to have painted her face light grey, brought it. Ten minutes later had to ask to pay. Chaotic unhelpful atmosphere. Nobody at cloakroom when we left. Had to find our own coats!! Which means anyone could take them. Totally rubbish AVOID

it was not busy and the service was abrupt and we always had to ask for dingen. the food was average. Usually this is a good restaurant, but Sunday night was below average. the music was not really appropriate. also the toilets freeze.

Another good evening in TW Ivy. Did get very quiet from about 8-8.30pm but was New Year's Day but was buzzy when we arrived at 7 for drinks at the bar!

Excellent and good value breakfast. Gives you the buzzy, ivy vibe at a fraction of the usual cost.
