I have been a loyal customer of The Keg for many years. However, after two disappointing experiences at the Manor Keg four and five years ago, I have not returned. Since then, I have frequented the Stittsville Keg, where I have always enjoyed exceptional meals and service. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me completely disappointed. Despite ordering my steak medium-rare, it arrived cooked to medium. We had to ask for bread three times before receiving it, which was a departure from the usual service. I went to The Keg to celebrate my 60th birthday, only to discover that they were out of their signature dish - the prime rib. The atmosphere was chilly and didn't have the usual cozy feel of The Keg. This particular location did not meet the high standards of quality and service that I am accustomed to. I ordered the $62 rib steak, cooked Chicago style to a medium-well, but it was not as flavorful as previous experiences. The steak seemed dry and the mashed potatoes were barely warm. Disappointed, I do not plan on returning to this specific location.
This restaurant has gone down hill in the last year. Previous visits we have found the food salty but our vist everything was just bland. I normally get the sirloin Oscar, but this time the sauce was on the side and it was cold. Our appetizer of Sizzling Shrimp was tasty but Cold. The Keg used to be the gold standard for steak dinners but it's no longer. I really liked the twice baked potato, but it was a total letdown as well. The only good thing I have to say about our visit was the staff. Prompt and friendly.
We love The Keg. My husband and I used to go to the Hunt Club location before this one opened and we're so glad there's a Keg in the West end. We also prefer this location over Hunt Club atmosphere is pretty much the same but lighting is better. We never had a bad experience except for once, and even then, it was handled very well when we provided feedback to the general manager. PS. The worst experience I have ever had, surely I will never go back . It was on Friday night even though we had a reservation , we waited for the table for 1hour and half maybe longer. I wished I had left. The steak it was horrible, I asked for no pork on the plate and still my plate had pork. I did mention to the waitress and it seems she didn’t care , this location felt like it was over staffed, under performing. I did left hungry after all , awful place and service.
Went to this The Keg location with friends. We usually go to the Kingston location. I must say I was not impressed with the food. I had to send my steak back twice as it was undercooked. We all know how unpleasant that is. We eat at the Keg frequently but I won't be trying this location again. I must however highlight our waiter was great and apologetic but when you are paying over 55.00 getting it right should not be an issue
Ordered for takeout and when I got home, I found one item was missing. The manager was a class act. Refunded for the item, remade the item and complementary dessert. I’ve never had a problem with this location and that still remains true. They obviously care deeply about their customers.
