Left Adelaide this morning at 6.30am and arrived at Varsity Lakes at 5.30pm. Came straight here for a few reds and then an early dinner. Not a lot of choice but that didn't matter. Steak was perfect with roasted onions, pesto garnish, delicately spiced French fries in a basket and lightly dressed side salad. Simple dish, not complicated, well presented and delicious. Good choice of beers including own brew but small choice of wines. But again, didn't matter. Full bodied classy reds in a proper wine glass - left me lingering longer than expected. Staff were very friendly (thank you Nick), very helpful and the meal came out in good time. Highly recommended.
We went for a girls night. Disappointed with service and two chicken dishes both were not cooked properly still pink reddish in the middle. After complaining we were offered a bottle of wine to take home but we requested that they take off the meals off the bill. Which they did. We asked a waiter a question was told they would find out and come back but never returned and we asked that of three different waiters and no one ever came back. They were busy so maybe that was why. I wont be back. Shame as the view over the water is lovely.
This is great new spot in Varsity on the lake. Great outdoor seating over looking Lake. Menu is Canadian/American, think wings, burgers, poh boys and great share tapas dishes too. James the owner brews his own beer on site in microbrewery and is delicious!! Love going here, has taken a while to get the service right, definitely better last visit. Try the White Sangria, at $20 a jug, is good value and tastes delicious!They do a great breakfast on weekends too!!
We went for breakfast and we did like it. Maybe beer, lunch or dinner be better... The staff are friendy but the coffee was not good. The cup come kind of dirty and the croassant was soggy not crunchy. The egg with toast was not very good too. Its a shame as the location is perfect. Near the lake with great views.

The second week I have visited A real quandary The owners are very gracious and greet everyone coming and going The staff who take orders and make coffee were dismissive and rude, the barista SO rude I left my coffee on the table and walked. The owners need to choose - reward poor staff or reward customers
In addition to having an exceptional wing night on Tuesdays, this place has amazing house brews and satisfying food all around. Great place to grab some beers and a bite whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just feel like having a wonderful meal with welcoming staff.
Interesting, varied menu. I chose the calamari and thoroughly enjoyed the tender crumbed pieces served with a delightful dipping sauce. The setting is superb and very relaxing.
Locally made beer in house, food is fantastic and staff are very helpful. Do yourself a favour and check this place out. A great addition to the Varsity Lakes community.

The quality of the menu is poor...mostly American type food ...a lot of fried food. The prices are ridiculous.$14 for a toasted sandwich...and only on white bread!
Dropped in for a quick lunch - beautiful food and great service Loved the jerk prawns and the buffalo wings !! I'll be bringing my husband back!
