The Lantern noodle bar is located on a quiet side street between Argos and the main shopping street, Broad St. They offer a good variety of vegetarian, fish, and meat options, making it a great choice for groups with different preferences. The owners have extensive experience in the restaurant industry, which is evident in the quality of the food. Service can be a bit slow during busy times, so patience is necessary. I have never had a bad meal here, although I found the green curry to be spicier than expected. There is a convenient car park across the road, making it accessible for those with mobility issues, though there is a step at the main entrance.

Order regular takeaways from here mostly very nice food at the usual going rate prices Only issues the constancy is sometimes a little below par? lets say i order my favourite 5 times over, 2 out of the 5 times the meal will seem quite different, with different sauce and different veg? sometimes very tasty sometimes a bit annoying? the main chef/ cook does seem to be the same person so i cant understand why this happens? 5 stars on a good day 3 star on a bad day.

Lots of great veggie choices on offer here as well as omni versions. Best to book if you want to eat in, as the restaurant area isn't huge. The big table in the back is a bespoke piece that the owners commissioned using wood from their own land, and it's gorgeous. The food is good quality, tending to be on the spicier side. Service can be on the slower side, so may be worth phoning your order in.

I've visited The Lantern several times with friends and family. There are many veggie options and a great selection generally. The owners are really friendly and always try to do their best for you. The large table at the rear of the restaurant was made from reclaimed wood from their own property.It's stunning! It's known as a noodle bar but the menu is far more varied. Recommended. Excellent service and excellent food. We placed a large telephone order for 7 hungry adults who were staying in the middle of nowhere about 5 miles from Newtown just as the football semi final started. The food was delivered by half time, it was hot it was delicious and we had a gift of prawn crackers! Great service, good price

Called in to order a takeaway meal. Man behind counter said they were closed????? Two women offered to sort something out??? Sort out if you are open or closed. Also bad smell from kitchen prep area. Won't be returning.

The service at this restaurant was quick and the food was delicious and piping hot! Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff managed to serve me promptly. I will definitely be coming back again.

Absolutely no taste with this dish. The rice was ok but the wine was nice. Rudeness from the staff saying we were boring choosing the same dish
