Came here often when I used to work in the area for the great sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Visited again during a walk along the Bow River and was pleased that it remains an excellent spot for breakfast and lunch, from specialty eggs bennies, soups,...sandwiches, and coffees to desserts. They now offer pre-made sandwiches. One note to keep in mind is that this great experience costs a little more than the average soup and sandwich I had a half sandwich, kale salad, and kombucha ginger ale while my wife just had a full sandwich. Unfortunately I just can't seem to get consistently good things here. Sometimes the coffee is good, other times I get a pumpkin spice latte with no pumpkin taste. I generally find the items to be overpriced, but then again things like the cinnamon bun are...delicious, HUGE and the price is fitting. Staff are always friendly but can be quite slow, so when I see a line I end up just leaving right away as I know it will take more closer to a half hour to get my coffee. Overall, just an average experience.
This is a great place to go for a real and fresh sandwich. Walk in the door, pick a slip of paper and select what you want to eat. Pick a desert and a drink (water is available you don’t need to buy a...bottle), pay and have a seat at one of the mismatched tables. Your food is brought to your table. The sandwich size is impressive, the bread very tasty and the fresh ingredients are flavourful. It is a busy place but well worth coming in for a great lunch.
the food is great and the service is friendly, but this restaurant is worn out. it needs a thorough cleaning and attention to the optics of where garbage/organic recycling cans are placed, etc. i would think a thoughtful look at layout and a deep cleaning/replacement...of worn flooring, etc. would help.

I love this cute cafe. The food is really good. I’m obsessed with the bread. I got the red velvet hot chocolate and Omelet. I couldn’t stop eating the potatoes. The staff is super friendly and on top of things. It’s kid friendly. Free parking...is available in parking lot. It’s very affordable!
Yum yum yum. Fresh and springy bread, delicious toppings and always custom to how you like it Do yourself a favour and have the kale Caesar salad too. YUMMMMM! Coffee bar is super great too. Make sure to get a big size. You’ll want more...I bet
First time, we stopped for lunch. Place was very busy but we were able to find seats. You fill out a form with your order. Lots of options. Service was prompt and friendly. Sandwiches were very adequate. We will dine here again.
I was looking forward to a healthy Morning Glory muffin, which is packed with nutritional nuts and seeds. So very disappointed to open the takeaway bag to find a mushy carrot muffin. focus on efficiency please.

A pretty good place to stop in if you're heading down Memorial Drive. They've got loads of fresh baking, mostly sweet, to choose from. Build your own sandwiches, and some hot food as well!
The Loaf has been around for many years and the one great quality is consistency. Always good food, good service and good coffee. Thanks for being and staying original.
